Miniatur Wunderland

Miniatur Wunderland is actually the main reason we went to Hamburg. A miniaturized universe represented by different geographical areas (from Germany, Switzerland, US, etc) and by all kind of locations: mountain resorts, harbors, towns, cities, beaches. There are tens of thousands of figurines, cars, trains, trees, houses, etc. Everything is unbelievably detailed, it’s hard to explain in words. It’s something that has to be seen.

I made pictures, of course. There are quite a few but it’s well worth seeing them. The gallery is on several pages so make sure to visit all of them (at the end of the post):

Hamburg, again

This time no longer a business trip, but a vacation of sorts. Initially we planned to stay there for one night but later extended that another day so we have a little bit more time. This was more or less our Christmas “vacation” for this year, since we didn’t manage to go anywhere else.

The weather didn’t really cooperate but at least it only rained 50% of the time. Surprisingly enough, it was slightly warmer than at home. Even though it wasn’t enough time to visit much, the city is nice and it gets our approval. Some pictures, made at night:
